Strengths

I’m good at new. // New ideas, new looks, new voices, new ways of working. New is my happy place. Whether it’s reformatting an excel sheet to streamline our planning process, scouting new freelance talent to partner with, or crafting projects that allow for exploration and growth, I am constantly challenging the status quo to help elevate my team and product lines.

I am fearless about change. // Some of the most fulfilling work in my career has been leading, partnering and learning with teams through projects that are undefined and complicated. I am a curious learner and thrive on solving big problems with lots of moving parts. I love collaborating on holistic solutions across teams.

I am consumer-focused. // “Always Be Researching...ABR” is my motto, ok, not really, but I do make time for exploring daily. Things like, what’s happening in the world, new ways of thinking, new ways of marketing, artists blazing exciting new trails. I spend the majority of my free time researching pop culture, the latest podcasts and retail experiences. I also actively encourage my team to research and share out findings. Being proactive allows for our team to be ahead of the requests for “new and different” and it is the foundation of our own product innovation pipeline.  

I am a hybrid. // What started out as a necessity, finding and editing copy to use for design projects and social posts, has turned into a valuable skill that makes me a more successful Creative Director. I have spent the last 13 years immersed in humor brands like Shoebox, Fresh Ink, Studio Ink, and Good Mail, honing my funny skills with some of the most talented writers in the business. Over the years I have grown my copywriting skills, feel comfortable partnering with writers and editing copy to elevate designs. The added value of being able to create and communicate visually and editorially, has paid off many times over with tighter, more conceptual and more relatable work. Being told by a humor writer that I am “a writer who can design,” is one of my proudest moments.
